Hi all,

 I am new to the pack but I am very familiar with Ceaser's show and will be purchasing one of his books this weekend.

 I am about to adopt a 2yr old female bassett (Sugar) and would like to get any good pointers from fellow bassett owners, or anyone for that matter with helpful tips. I have done some research on the breed and I am very excited about bringing her home! However, I also know that the best source of information is from those who actually own one.

I'm familiar with Bassetts.  I've had good friends with them.  They are very neat and laid back dogs that I'm always afraid will step on their ears but they never do. :) 

First thing I would suggest is take Cesar's Sessions. 

Second thing is get into a training class with her and then go into something like tracking to satisfy her hunting instincts.
