  • Ollie 8 yr old mix and 2 new lhasa apso puppies in the house will not settle down.

Ollie is my 8 yr old mix shepard/boxer/lab. Very quite dog, timid and gentle. His best friend died last year. A few weeks ago we brought home two lhasa apso puppies both males. Now Ollie will not settle down in the house unless they are in a cage. He paces, wines and barks to go back outside. We live...

  • new pup - when to start walks ?

Today marks 1 week with my new pup, Scamp. He's 3 months old. He's cute. He's smart. I attempted to walk with him the moment I picked him up from the breeder. (Not really a breeder, just a local family that had a litter and sold same). It was already after dark. He froze, he put tension on...

  • New to the Pack from California, USA!

Hello, I have gotten a puppy about a month ago who is now 17 weeks of age. He is a Lancashire Heeler/Chihuahua mix with tan and black patterns (looks like a baby german sherpard). He is very submissive and very fearful of other dogs. He is perfectly fine with humans, but as soon as a dog comes along...

  • Fighting puppies (not litter mates)

We have been hand rearing our orphan Rhodesian ridgeback puppy Juno - a little girl of eight weeks. Her mum died in whelp along with 12 pups. Juno was the only survivor. We worried that she wasn't socialised so have bought a second pup - a little male ridgeback 10 days older than Juno. His name is...

  • New Puppy Aggression

Hello! My boyfriend and I just bought a Shiba Inu on March 31st, he is 11wks and we have been having some problems! Overall hes a great puppy but he gets aggressive. When he is "mouthing" we correct him with a NO! and it does nothing, even if we walk away and ignore him. We were correcting...

I have a 4 month golden who refuses to walk away from the house. I have spent weeks on this and I don't feel like I am getting anywhere. Everything else with her has gone very well, but this is a troubling situation. Here is my story. We got Coco at Christmas time and the first few weeks went very...

  • My puppy had heart surgery today.

Hi everyone, I seek advice, guidance and suggestions on how to best nurture and continue training in a soft, yet calm assertive way for my Yorkie puppy who pulled through a two-hour heart surgery today. For the last two weeks and for the next two weeks, I'll have to keep her confined indoors, away...

  • Re: 2 puppies same littler?

Your advice was great! My husband and I just purchased two Finnish Spitz puppies from the same litter and we were having trouble getting them to pay attention/listen to us when they were together out in the yard. We just started walking them separately and keeping one in the kennel while the other is...
