we recently adopted a beagle, we've heard they are a good breed and just well tempered and family dogs, well we've had Owen for 3 months now and its been a total 360. When we first got him home he would listen and he'd be like the best dog, however he'd never walk, he was too scared. Then 2 months later he is biting everything! I mean i know ...

I just read a fantastic reply concerning play-biting that mentioned charts in the book ''A Member of the Family''.
I really need to use audio books as time is just really that prohibitive. I take plenty of time for my puppies and usually ''multi-task'' by watching Cesar's programs (and others) on TV while doing house-work, puppy-care and pro. ...

Hello everyone,
My boyfriend and me are fostering a 2 year old smooth-coated Dachshund. He was abandoned by his previous owners and for a month lived outside with two other dogs at a friends house. He got in a spat with one of the dogs, got bitten by the back leg and, as a result, had a fracture. Our friend could not provide care for 3 ...

Me and my husband just got Cabela last week from a shelter. She is a great dog but she gets scared quite quickly. This has resulted in her running away, twice and not wanting to interact very often. Everything I read has me addressing this by giving her treats or using commands like stay; unfortunately Cabela is not that intrested in treats and ...

I live in Philadelphia and I have a 1yr old alpha German Shepherd/ Husky mix. She heals well.
Listens well (but still gives attitude- takes her a couple seconds
after a command for her to actually do it - but will always perform). Problem:
She's dog agressive, but only when a dog actually approaches her. She
is an ''alpha'' and other dogs ...

We adopted an Australian breed last year.
Built in hyperactiveness and I could sence a real potential for her to
develope seperation anxiety.
I give her some exercise and attentinon 10 to 15 minutes before leaving.
Then from that point on, I almost totaly ignore her as I get ready to leave.
I make a point of making nice-nice for a ...

This is my first time posting, so forgive me if a similar thread has been posted. I was wondering what other viewers thought about my predicament, and if they could lend some advice.
We own a pomeranian mix that is currently around the age of 10 or 11. He is old and extremely obese. The vet said he should be around 7lbs (which is more logical for ...

Dear Cesar,
I found smoothi in the humane society in wspt. ct 2 1/2 years ago. She was found on a highway in SC and someone picked her up, brought to a high kill shelter, where she was saved from euthanasia in the nick of time. She was approx. 5-6 months. scabies, ringworm and a basic deconditioned 25 lb dog. You had the chance to see her ...

We have a 5 yr. old, male, 112 lb., doberman mix and a 3 yr. old, female, 18 lb. parsons russell terrier. We've had both since they were small puppies and the big guy adapted to the little one quickly and well. They get along 98% of the time, eat together, sleep together, play together. There have been occassions were the little one would ...

First, some of the products you mentioned here, I have found NOT to be reliable flea treatments. Hartz, for example is not a product I would ever recommend, based on my experience.
I''m not a fan of putting pesticides on my animals, but in your case, it's better than a household full of fleas. I noticed in your original post, you said your ...
