  • Re: Lily went home!

Yes, theirs was a tough case.....Lily is still doing well as of this weekend. Unfortunately, our breed is not seen as a family pet by many. They are seen as working dogs, which they are but with that comes a price such as an outdoor kennel, lack of understanding of the breed, dogs stressed, shot over at a young age traumatizing them. Actually ...

  • Re: Fleas -- PLEASE help

Regardless of what you use on each animal, it sounds as though your home is infested as well. It's important to make certain that you not only care for the animals, but rid your house of them as well. Most likely fogging is going to be necessary. You might consider investing in a ''yard'' treatment as well, just to get them under control. Then ...

  • Re: Just a quick question.

From your post, it sounds as if when she is playing you are not interacting with her? Is that correct? You have a great opportunity to integrate her love for her toys with obedience. Give her ''scheduled'' playtime with you, and remember nothing in life is free. Make her work for each and every toy,and while this may not be fun in your mind, it's ...

  • HOW CAN I MAKE HIM....

Its been two months since Ive adopted my rescue animal.  He is very, very scared of EVERYTHING.  He's getting better every day, except in one area.  He submissively pees from his crate whenever I approach to walk him!  Not just a few drops of submissive peeing but full on bladder release.  The first week I got him, he held ...

  • smoothi the service dog

Dear Cesar,   I found smoothi in the humane society in wspt. ct 2 1/2 years ago. She was found on a highway in SC and someone picked her up, brought to a high kill shelter, where she was saved from euthanasia in the nick of time. She was approx. 5-6 months. scabies, ringworm and a basic deconditioned 25 lb dog. You had the chance to see her ...
  • Re: What is a good age to really start the trainning on a pup?

You didn't provide specific scenarios, which makes it harder to offer specific details, so I'm going to offer some general advice here. Puppies need leadership and guidance the ENTIRE time they are developing. There is no better time then to instill the rules, boundaries and limitations then right NOW! Cesar's NEW BOOK: A member of the family ...

  • Re: Fleas -- PLEASE help

First, some of the products you mentioned here, I have found NOT to be reliable flea treatments. Hartz, for example is not a product I would ever recommend, based on my experience. I''m not a fan of putting pesticides on my animals, but in your case, it's better than a household full of fleas. I noticed in your original post, you said your ...
